We are a licensed real estate brokerage company who serves as the broker for over 2000 licensees. We are not a real estate brokerage in the traditional sense since our agents are not "active" in the field. We are designed for "inactive" real estate licensees. RGI was established in 1991 in Princeton, New Jersey as an alternative for licensed NJ real estate agents who did not want to pursue a full-time real estate career, but still wanted to keep their licenses active and earn commissions.

We are not a conventional real estate firm as our licensees are not permitted to list and sell real estate. In other words, no one who is licensed with us ever directly represents buyers or sellers in real estate transactions. They do however refer their buyer/seller leads to full time sales agents in full service real estate companies, not only in New Jersey, but anywhere in the country. Our agents may perform only one function; to make qualified referrals to full time agents.

Referral Group members may not directly represent buyers or sellers for a number of reasons. First, we are not members of the National Association of Realtors. Second, we do not belong to any local Realtor boards; therefore we do not have access to the tools(MLS) and other services available to full service brokerage companies that enable them to fully serve the needs of their clients. Third, we believe that to adequately and professionally represent buyers and sellers, the services of a full-time professional in the field are required. RGI members are able to serve their customers on a referral basis only.
